FormulaD Round2 -- May 11th and 12th

Road Atlanta in Braselton Georgia will be alive with the smell of rubber smoke and race gas this weekend as FormulaD invades the track for Round2 of the Formula D series.  Road Atlanta will challenge competitors as they swing around turns 10A, and 10B of the road course and then around the loop before the Suzuki bridge and back towards Turns 10B, 10A, where the course ends dramatically by drifting uphill on an incline.

We know you will be watching the qualification and competition rounds via the live stream on formulad.com so keep an eye out for our R/T Tuning stickers as...

Nick D'Alessio,

Tony Angelo,

or Brad Hettinger rip past the camera.

If Time Attack is more your thing Global Time Attack will also be holding the next round of their time attack series in conjunction with the Formula D guys on Saturday May 12th.  Some of the fastest time attack vehicles in the nation will be running the 2.5 mile Grand Prix course adding yet another motorsports event to an already exciting day trackside.

If you choose to sit track side at the Grand Prix course on Saturday keep your eyes open for the R/T Tuning sponsored SMAX time attack Nissan 240SX.

Customer Spotlight -- Wendell V.

Wendell brought his home built turbocharged 2008 Nissan Sentra in to allow Vince to work some Uprev tuning magic on it last week.  Wendell did his homework, putting together a solid turbocharged build that really made some nice numbers on the Dynojet.

Here is a glimpse under the hood at the GT3076R based turbo setup that the customer installed himself.  Very clean and well thought out.  Well done Wendell!

Now that is some serious power for a front wheel drive car!  This thing sounded like a monster on our dyno.

This Sentra combines clean good looks with big horsepower numbers for a street car that is sure to catch more than a few people off guard.

Now Available: Cobb Tuning 3" Gen2 SS cat-back for your 2010-2012 MazdaSpeed3

The layout of this COBB 3” SS Cat-back was chosen to minimize the total bend degrees used to route the exhaust piping for reduced backpressure. The entire system fits within the factory exhaust path to allow the exhaust to be tucked up as close to the undercarriage as possible to achieve maximum ground clearance. Exhaust piping is 3” diameter from the downpipe to the split, where dual 2.5” pipes whisk the exhaust out of the system. The resulting path of least resistance minimizes back-pressure for maximum power gains.

Harsh engine exhaust noise is subdued via one primary resonator and two secondary resonators. These large chambered resonators provide sound reduction without adding restriction to the exhaust flow. The resulting mellow rumble sounds and feels powerful, without being overbearing. This exhaust was designed to meet the 95dB sound restriction even when used as part of a full turbo-back exhaust system.

Significant effort went into making this exhaust look as good as it sounds and performs. All three oval cross-section resonators are finished with rolled end-caps and beautiful welds. The 3” stainless steel piping has a satin finish while the entire rear section is fully polished for a stunning appearance. The exhaust is finished with 4” slash-cut, single-wall rolled tips with laser etched COBB logos. The entire kit is constructed of T304 stainless steel to ensure that it stays looking this great for years to come.

This cat-back exhaust will work with the stock or any direct factory replacement downpipe. The two bolt flanges allow slights adjustability for absolutely perfect fitment. Includes all gaskets and hardware, and uses the stock doughnut gasket to mate to the downpipe.
