Hondata modifies standard Honda engine computers (ECUs), adding features and expanding what the ECU can do — for forced induction, for example. Those modifications come either as a reflash or as a fully tunable system.
A reflash involves the ECU being sent to Hondata. A programmable system needs the ECU itself modified on pre-2006 vehicles, or an external programming interface on 2006 and later vehicles.
